Educators Practising Hip Hop In and Outside of the Classroom

Brand New Music for World Teachers Day

Every year, since 2019, Hip Hop Headucatorz have been dropping music on October 5th to celebrate World Teachers Day. We have been hard at work on our sophomore album and a special children’s album. These are both coming soon.

Today, we share with you a double-sided single. The A-side features MikeAll reflecting on what it means to be an emcee. In Hip Hop, MC or “Emcee” is the traditional term for rapper. It can mean, Master of Ceremonies, Move the Crowd and much more. The title, “IAMSee”, uses wordplay to stress the difference between Emcee vs rapper. Emcees are responsible for depicting what they see as a mouth piece for the community. Overall, the song is a call for artists to reflect on whether or not they “AMSee/MC” when they use the craft of Rap.

The B-side, Bolder, is about the writing process and how if you work through the steps to create a text, you will feel more confident in your writing. This one is a solo song by Chase March.

You can download or stream the tracks for free. Right now, they are available exclusively on our Bandcamp page.

The download comes with a booklet featuring the lyrics of both songs and worksheets teachers can use in the classroom.
