Hip Hop Headucatorz

Educators Practising Hip Hop In and Outside of the Classroom

Teachers Can Rap

Hip Hop Headucatorz are more than just a rap group. Our crew is comprised of DJs, producers, emcees, breakers, and graffiti artists. We are all active teachers who embrace Hip Hop culture both in and out of the classroom. As professional educators, we know how it can reach and inspire our students.

6ix7

The phrase, 6-7, is an internet meme with no clear meaning. In true Hip Hop fashion, the Headucatorz made a song to add meaning and to make “something out of nothing!” With a fun music video and accompanying worksheets, get your students working with 6ix7.

Headucator Kids

This album is designed specifically for early learners and children with autism. Blending catchy beats with engaging lyrics and music videos to introduce fundamental concepts like shapes, numbers, letters, and the days and months of the year.

Head of the Class

Our debut album comes with detailed lesson plans, lyrics, black line masters, worksheets, and rubrics in the attached PDF. It covers language arts, mathematics, dance, visual arts and music. The activities are aimed at junior, intermediate, and senior students but can work well with primary age children with a few modifications.

The Math Album

This is a multi-media production that teachers can use to engage their students in the four basic operations of mathematics. The songs teach the concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as the importance of learning how numbers work together.

The Hip Hop Headucatorz Story

Award-winning teacher and recording artist, MikeAll wanted to make a special song to celebrate World Teachers Day in 2019. He recruited fellow educators to craft a song about education.

The debut single “Each One Teach One” featured vocals by Wizekrak, MikeAll, Just Sev, A-Cubed, Tigz,Jon Corbin, and Chase March, with production by I.Khan and cuts by Chase March.

Little did they know, that this singular track would spark a movement. They continued to work on music, added more members to the group, and even started creating resources for teachers to bring Hip Hop music and culture to the classroom.

They crew is currently 12 members strong. Every member of the group is a licensed and registered teacher working in elementary and secondary education in Canada. We have members across the Greater Toronto and surrounding area, Sarnia, and Halifax.

Teaching Resources

We encourage teachers to use Hip Hop in the classroom and have made several resources to help classroom teachers. We have lesson plans, units, and worksheets available for download on our Bandcamp page. Many of our songs and albums come with a bonus PDF of classroom-ready material. Simply print them off, photocopy them for your students, and use them immediately.
